BREAKLINE CLIENT
Breakline Client Development Update
Development on the Breakline Client is moving forward, and we’ve reached an important stage in preparing it for eventual public release.
Over the past several development sessions, we’ve been focused on turning the client from a basic launcher into something that feels like a real part of the Breakline Studios ecosystem. The core launcher is now functioning, the visual design has been brought in line with our studio branding, and we’ve begun working through the packaging and distribution process needed to get it onto players’ PCs cleanly.
The client is being designed to serve as the central home for Breakline Studios titles, beginning with BUNKERED. Our goal is to give players a simple place to launch our games, view important updates, and eventually access additional Breakline features as the studio and our catalog grow.
Current Progress
Work completed or currently underway includes:
Core Breakline Client functionality
Breakline Studios branding and interface redesign
Game launch integration
Client packaging for Windows
Installation and update testing
Online connectivity testing
Preparing the client for external testers
We’re also continuing to improve the experience behind the scenes. A launcher may look simple from the outside, but apparently computers demand an impressive amount of negotiation before they agree to install software somewhere other than the developer’s own machine.
What Comes Next
Our next major focus is making the client reliable enough for broader testing.
That means continuing to test installation, game launching, remote connectivity, updates, and the various situations that inevitably appear once software leaves the machine it was developed on.
The first public version will be intentionally focused. We would rather release a smaller client that works reliably and expand it over time than fill the first build with features that are not ready.
As development continues, the Breakline Client will become an increasingly important part of how players access BUNKERED and future Breakline Studios projects.
There is still work ahead, but seeing the client begin to operate as a complete product rather than just a development tool is a major step for us.
More updates are coming as we move closer to our first external builds.
